Meandering River
Meandering River is an interdisciplinary collaboration to create an iterative, site-specific multimedia performance illuminating intricate ecological networks between people, water, and infrastructure around the Iowa River passing through Iowa City. The core group includes visual artists, musicians, dancers, scholars, ecofeminists, and hydroscientists with a shared vision of shifting how the public interacts with the river in the short- and long-term.

Alivenesses (2024) public lecture-performance. 12 dancers. Sound installation by Ramin Roshandel.
 
How can dance enhance and reveal new bodies of knowledge with(in) natural history museums through the creation of performance scores and listening practices that challenge and reorient our relationship to animate/inanimate and living/nonliving materials in the museum?
Alivenesses was a multi-phased research process resulting in a series of scores and maps designed for museum goers. The creative methodology developed in this research process is informed the interdisciplinary research process of Meandering River.

Go! Go! Go! Vermijo (2023). Choreographer. 40 performers. 1 live musician. 1 hour.  Site-specific. Commissioned by Ormao Dance Company for professional dancers and community members. Assistance by Lauren Linder and Jaruam Xavier. In collaboration with the US Olympic and Paralympic Museum and the Pioneers Museum. Colorado Springs, CO.
 
A traveling performance beginning at the Pioneers Museum and arriving at the US Olympic and Paralympic Museum featuring a large number of community participants. This project was ambitiously constructed in a period of 6 days.
